Do words appear to move, wobble or flicker when you read for any length of time? Do your eyes get tired or do you get headaches when reading? You might be one of the 20% of the population who suffers from a condition known as Visual Stress.
Visual Stress is thought to be caused by unusual activity in certain groups of cells in the brain – similar to migraine. The good news is that the symptoms can often be reduced by using a coloured overlay, coloured lenses or by changing the background colour of the screen or tablet that you are looking at.
The ReadEZ system was originally developed by vision scientists at City University London and consists of a range of software to diagnose the condition and various solutions to help relieve the symptoms. ReadEZ LITE is a free app designed to help you determine if you suffer from Visual Stress and if so, which colour is most effective in terms of reducing the symptoms.
ReadEZ LITE first shows you a passage of text and you can adjust the size and spacing of the words to see if you notice any of the symptoms of Visual Stress.
